Stella Maria Baer

Stella Maria Baer is a painter and photographer from Santa Fe, New Mexico.  In her work she explores her memory of growing up in the southwest desert – the lines, the color, the space. For the past two years she has been working on a series of watercolor moons and planets.  In these paintings Stella bleeds out her memory of the desert while moving into another space.  Her work overlaps the mythology of the desert and the cosmology of space.Stella’s work has been featured by The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Time Magazine, and Scientific American.  Her paintings and photographs are in private collections all over the world.
